The Landsat Image Mosaic of Antarctica (LIMA) is seamless and virtually cloudless. LIMA is the most geometrically accurate (within a pixel—30 meters by 30 meters of land) mosaic of Antarctica and has the highest spatial resolution. The mosaics and all of the LIMA products, along with previous Antarctic mosaics, can be downloaded at no charge. Descriptions of each version of LIMA and the other products appear under the viewer.   Read More... arrow

Created from over 1,000 Landsat 7 ETM+ scenes, LIMA consists of two principle mosaics, six stretched versions and one center-filled mosaic. LIMA products include the original NLAPS Landsat scenes and the processed Landsat scenes. Also featured for download are the MODIS Mosaic of Antarctica and the RADARSAT Image Map of Antarctica.

The map viewer displays the mosaics and Landsat scenes in polar stereographic projection with Web Map Service (WMS). All GeoTiff tiled downloads include Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) compliant metadata.

New LIMA Product, Center-Filled LIMA, complete continent now in two easily downloadable formats.

These images are in the 'public domain' and can be used freely and without acknowledgement. However, credit to the Landsat Image Mosaic of Antarctica (LIMA) Project is greatly appreciated.
