Locate Online GIS Resources for Antarctica

All data available through the View LIMA, Download LIMA and Landsat Scenes, and Interactive Altas of Antarctic Research pages are ready for direct access using ESRI ArcIMS and OpenGIS Consortium Web Mapping Specification (WMS). These can be added to any GIS client supporting those protocols using the information below:

This map service contains the large majority of the Antarctic data hosted at USGS EROS. All the original layers from the Atlas of Antarctic Research and some of the index layers for the LIMA products are part of this service.

The actual LIMA data is hosted on a separate server, so this map service provides access to just the LIMA and the MOA data viewable on this site.

This service contains layers that represent the extents of the Antarctic Datasets. It is separated into a different map service because these layers are not generally viewable in the clients. Instead, these layers are used by applications to determine products available for download and the location of those products.
